Thea Katauskas was born in Sydney and studied sculpture and printmaking at the Canberra School of Art, Australian National University.
Since graduating she has held solo exhibitions of prints in Brisbane, Canberra, Zurich, Bern and Lutry (Switzerland).
Recurrent themes in her artworks are an interest in myths and a fascination with human efforts to control our natural environment.
Her exhibitions of oil paintings have focused on the suburban streetscapes of Australia's capital, Canberra, and explored aspects of architectural heritage, planned urban spaces, and the tension between its natural and built environments.
She works as a freelance artist and illustrator and her art practice involves printing, sculpture, painting and ceramics.
Her paintings and prints are held in private collections in Australia and internationally.
