Thea Katauskas was born in Sydney and studied sculpture and printmaking at the Canberra School of Art, Australian National University.

 

She is a multi-disciplinary artist whose practice is constantly evolving. Most recently Thea has exhibited ceramic sculptures

(Grainger Gallery, Fyshwick since 2021 and Belconnen Arts Centre in 2020) following on from exhibitions of oil paintings (On the Verge in 2019, Greenspace in 2017, Red Brick in 2015 and Lawnscapes in 2014). Thea's work has also featured in solo and group exhibitions of prints in Brisbane, Canberra, Zurich and Bern (Switzerland).

 

Her oil paintings have focused on the suburban streetscapes of Australia's capital, Canberra, and explored aspects of architectural heritage, planned urban spaces, and the tension between its natural and built environments.

Her ceramics, paintings and prints are held in private collections in Australia, U.S.A., U.K. and Switzerland.
